European Astrotech Performs Simulant Loading of the Hera Spacecraft

Under the watchful eye of OHB Germany propulsion engineers, European Astrotech performed simulant loading of the fuel and oxidiser tanks on the HERA spacecraft at the European Space Agency Test facilities in Holland (ESTEC) during October. This is in preparation for the environmental test phase. The propulsion system and helium tank were pressurised after loading. On completion of testing, the spacecraft will be drained of simulant and dried prior to further test operations. European Astrotech will perform fuelling of the HERA spacecraft in October 2024 at SpaceX in Florida.
