European Astrotech Completes HERA Bipropellant Loading Operations

Despite the best efforts of Hurricane Helene, European Astrotech engineers successfully completed the bipropellant loading operations on the HERA spacecraft, paving the way to launch in October.The fuelling took place over three days and required four SCAPE shifts following the successful testing and high pressure gas loading ,of HERA by OHB propulsion engineers. This campaign followed on directly from the Galileo launch operations which saw European Astrotech engineers fuel these two satellites. Previously, European Astrotech had also fuelled the Galileo spacecraft launched on the L12 mission earlier this year, and the HERA loading operations concludes the fuelling activities for 2024, allowing EAL time to prepare for an extremely busy 2025 which currently holds at least 8 launch campaigns.
